Anatomy The penis consists of a body called the “shaft” and a head called the “glans”, which is covered by a layer of mucous membrane and sliding skin, called the “prepuce”.
Definition The condition of “short frenulum” or “short frenulum” consists in the brevity of the skin bridge that connects the foreskin to the urinary orifice, which prevents the retraction of the foreskin beyond the glans.
The presence of a short frenulum, in addition to generating discomfort during erections and sexual intercourse, is related in some cases to premature ejaculation and in others to poor hygiene with an increase in infections sexually transmitted.
The solution is a simple surgery, called frenulotomy/frenuloplasty.
