Who I am
Dr. Andrea Cocci
The choice to devote my professional life to urology and in particular to andrological and reconstructive surgery was a natural continuation of my undergraduate studies, I have always nurtured a deep passion for anatomy, the art of surgery and in general the diagnostic therapeutic process leading to patient recovery.
Oncologic and reconstructive urologic surgery
Cancer pathology, infertility, erectile dysfunction, penile disease, or simply prostate disorders irreparably afflict not only the individual but also the couple dimension. The concept of the physician leader, accustomed to dragging the patient through a therapeutic procedure, has amply demonstrated its failure, so I have full conviction that listening to the patient, carping about his or her needs, and assessing his or her expectations is the only way to establish a therapeutic program of success and satisfaction for both physician and patient.

Prostatic Hypertrophy
Benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH or BPH benign prostatic hyperplasia) is also known as prostatic adenoma. This is a condition characterized by enlarged prostate gland volume. It is quite common and manifests mainly from the age of 40 years and older. It is related to the natural aging of the prostate gland, which changes its volume over time, enlarging and thickening due to hormonal changes. It is therefore a process related to normal and inevitable aging.
BPH occurs in 8% of men, develops from age 40 onward, and is prevalent over age 50. The pathology is increasing as age advances and peaks between 70 and 80 years of age. In this age group, BPH affects about 80 percent of the male population.
Curved penis
Progression of the disease can generate erectile dysfunction and inability to have intercourse.
Erectile dysfunction
Erectile dysfunction is the recurrent and persistent inability to have a viable erection sufficient for sexual intercourse. Considering mild forms, it is estimated that 50% of men suffer from this condition, an incidence that increases with age.
Erectile dysfunction can affect men at any age and depends on a variety of causes: hormonal, vascular, neurogenic, and psychological.
Prostate cancer
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in the Italian male population.
The tumor originates from cells within the prostate, which begin to grow uncontrollably. This gland is very sensitive to the action of hormones, particularly testosterone, which influence its growth.
Despite the high incidence, the risk of the disease having an inauspicious outcome is low, especially if action is taken in time.
Urological pathologies
These conditions can be caused by infections, urinary flow problems, kidney stones, tumors, and other factors. Timely diagnosis and treatment of urological conditions are important for the patient’s overall health and well-being.
Urinary infections
Any infection of the urinary system (kidneys, ureter, bladder, urethra, external genitalia).
Incontinence
Urine loss associated with urgency or effort, in "urgency" or "exertion", sometimes mixed.
Prostatitis
It manifests with symptoms similar to those of cystitis and pelvic pain, sometimes associated with fever.
BPH
It is a rather common pathology and affects people over the age of 40-50.
Prostate cancer
The risk that the disease will have an unfortunate outcome is low, especially if you intervene in time.
Penile cancer
Disease characterized by the presence of cancer cells on the skin or in the internal tissues of the penis.
Testicular cancer
It usually manifests as a hard lump or bump on the testicle.
Bladder cancer
Common between the ages of 60 and 70, and is three times more common in men than in women.
Andrological pathologies
Erectile dysfunction
It is the recurrent and persistent inability to have an erection to permit sexual intercourse.
Curved penis
The progression of the disease can lead to erectile dysfunction and the impossibility of intercourse.
Phimosis / short frenulum
The presence of phimosis or short frenulum generates discomfort during erections and sexual intercourse.
Hypospadias
Malformation in which the urinary orifice does not open at the normal top of the penis but at a lower point.
Sexual diseases
They are a real social emergency as they are constantly spreading and often difficult to manage.
Premature ejaculation
It is a very common disorder, so much so that 1 in 4 men suffer from it. Treatment is based on the use of oral and local therapy.
Infertility
About 35% of infertility cases have a male cause, including environmental conditions and an unhealthy lifestyle.
Hypogonadism
Low testosterone level can be the cause of secondary conditions. The diagnosis is based on a blood test.
