Frenulotomy and frenuloplasty
Frenulotomy is a simple but delicate procedure used to treat the short frenulum. The short frenulum is a pathological condition characterized by the impossibility of retracting the foreskin beyond the glans.
With this technique the frenulum can only be incised, or incised and removed completely. Subsequently it is sutured by means of frenuloplasty using surgical stitches in material that can be absorbed spontaneously within about ten days.
The operation lasts about 30 minutes (frenulotomy and frenuloplasty), is performed under local anesthesia and on an outpatient basis and involves abstaining from sexual activity for about two weeks.
It is possible to carry out a mild work activity already on the day of the intervention.
